There are two types of intervention orders: Personal Safety Intervention Order and Family Violence Intervention Order.
A Personal Safety Intervention Order is an order by a Magistrate to protect a person from physical or mental harm caused by someone who is not a family member. If the affected person and respondent are family members, a Family Violence Intervention Order is needed.
